This FAQ entry answers non-technical questions related to the upgrade from EventReporter
5.x to 6.x. It is in the form of questions and answers.
Do I need a new license key?
Yes. You need a new key in any case.
I am an UpgradeInsurance Customer - how can I get hold of a new key?
Please email info@adiscon.com and request a new key. The new key
is free if you have non-expired UpgradeInsurance.
I purchased EventReporter 5.4 recently. Am I eligible for a free 6.0 key?
If you purchased EventReporter 5.4 after May, 28th 2003, you are eligible for a free key.
Please email info@adiscon.com and request a new key. Please be sure to specify
that you ordered on or after May 28th.
I am NOT an UpgradeInsurance Customer - how can I get hold of a new key?
There is a fee for major upgrades like this. Fortunately, we still offer special upgrade
packages for our valued customers. You can purchase an upgrade from any version of EventReporter
to version 6.x. For upgrade prices, please contact Adiscon sales (sales@adiscon.com).
Please include proof of your previous EventReporter license in your mail.
For the time being, I would like to continue using EventReporter 5.4. Is it still supported?
Yes. We know that many customers out of experience do not like running the newest release
of any product on their important servers. As such, EventReporter 5.4 is still supported and
also fully available via our download sites.
I would like to purchase EventReporter 5.4. How can I do that?
Simply purchase EventReporter 6.0. It is the same price and you have a valid 6.x license
when you are ready to move up to 6.0. Technically, 6.0 and 5.4 have different keys, but the first
number in an EventReporter 6.0 key is a valid 5.4 key. So to activate a 5.4 version, simply use
the number in front of the first dash.
