Problems with EventReporter 4.0 Setup Program fixed

The setup program issue described in our news release from July, 5th 2000 has today been fixed. The current downloadable "Full Install" download set now works flawlessly on all of our test configurations. We also received positive feedback from a number customers who had problems with the original 4.0 install set.

The new install set has been assigned version 4.01 in order to differentiate it from the faulty one. The documentation inside the set currently states version 4.0. This will be changed during the course of the day. There is no reason to download the new version for users who didn't have any problems with the 4.0 setup.

Unfortunately, the faulty install set has already been submitted to a number of software download sites. We are trying very hard to get it replaced by the updated version. However, most download sites do not accept rapidly repeated submissions. And the 4.01 release looks like such. Also, download sites take a variable number of time until they accept a program. So it might be possible that you run into a 4.0 install set with the described problems long after the bug has been fixed.

Users who downloaded the 4.0 version from a download site and are experiencing the setup problem should re-download the version from our site. This will solve the issue.
